EXOTHERM (EXploring nanoscale heat and charge transport in van der Waals heterostructures for advanced THERMal management) is an international collaboration supported by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST-CREST).
The project explores how electrons and phonons interact and transport energy across two-dimensional (2D) materials and van der Waals heterostructures, with the goal of developing innovative solid-state cooling and thermal management technologies.
Bringing together experts in quantum transport modeling, materials growth, and nanoscale characterization, EXOTHERM bridges fundamental research and applied innovation.
French PI: Dr. Marc Bescond
Japanese PI: Prof. Masahiro Nomura.
ANR funding: 500 000 €.
JST-CREST funding: 1 500 000 €.
