Invited talk of Marc Bescond at CSW
Compound Semiconductor Week: session "Quantum Nanostructures and Physics" in Kumamoto-Japan, https://csw-jpn.org/ Marc Bescond gave an invited talk at the CSW "on Cooling at the Nanoscale with Quantum Heterostructures". Many thanks to the organizers for this great event! Ref : M. Bescond, "Cooling at the Nanoscale with Quantum Heterostructures," CSW ,24-28 May 2026, Kumamoto (Japan).

Quantum modeling of electron-hole dissociation at the donor-acceptor interface in an organic solar cell
Publication in Physical Review Applied! Electron-hole pairs in organic photovoltaics are known to dissociate efficiently despite a Coulomb binding energy that exceeds thermal energy, a behavior that remains only partially understood. While previous studies have highlighted the role of electron-phonon interactions and nonequilibrium effects, a clear and physically transparent picture of the dissociation mechanism is still lacking. In this work, we investigate this problem usin

Intervention in primary schools via the ‘Science in the Classroom’ program!
The week of the 13 th of October, Marc Bescond visited several primary schools in North-district of Marseille and the Vaucluse department to bring science to potentially less exposed students. He gave small talks on thermoelectricity, with hands-on demos and Q&A. The idea was above all to show that science can be fun and close to our everyday lives. It was great moments of exchange with the pupils, who asked lots of questions and showed great curiosity!
